How to Activate Your UEW Institutional Email Account (Student and Staff)

Are you a student or staff of University of Education, Winneba (UEW) and you are wondering how to Activate Your UEW Institutional Email Account? Then, you are at the right place, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has migrated to a new mail service powered by Google.

This new service provides access to all of Google cloud apps including Google drive, Google sheets, Google docs and other services under an umbrella service referred to as GSuite. Staff and Students would therefore access their emails on this new platform using their UEW email addresses. You cannot send or receive emails using the old platform however you can read the old emails.

In this article, we will provide instructions on how to activate your institutional email account for both students and staff.

Steps to access New Mail service

  1. Enter your UEW email address.
  2. Enter your default password sent to you via SMS (For first-time login)
  3. Repeat default password and solve the recaptcha
  4. Accept the terms and condition
  5. Choose a new password and confirm it (Note: Password must be 8 or more characters)

How to Activate Your UEW Institutional Email Account (Students)

Guidelines

  1. Email Address

The syntax of the email address is as follows:

  1. Password

The password is zero plus the student’s applicant ID. [For example, if the student’s applicant ID is “1234567”, the password will be “01234567“. Students will be required to change their password upon login.
